In Papua New Guinea, we have Cultural Shows with celebrating our unity in our diversity. At these cultural shows, individuals and organizations set up stalls in the show grounds. For the organisers, there is a problem that is always faced. And that is how to give stall passes and keep track of them.
Last year at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology Cultural Show and 39th Independence Anniversary Celebrations, the organizing committee faced the same problem. How could we make sure that one stall pass was not used for multiple entries?
Stall passes are needed to maintain the stalls so they need to:
Certain people use the stall pass for multiple entries. After the stall keepers have used the pass for entry, it is passed to others to enter the show arena without paying.
Stall passes are needed to maintain the stalls so they need to:
- Have unlimited entries; and
- Be valid for the duration of the show
Problem
Certain people use the stall pass for multiple entries. After the stall keepers have used the pass for entry, it is passed to others to enter the show arena without paying.
Solution
To prevent this from happening, two sets of stall passes were used.
- Stall entry pass
- Stall exit pass
Stall entry passes were issued to all stall keepers. This passes were used to enter the show arena. Upon presentation of the entry pass, it was swapped for an exit pass. This exit pass would be present on exit to be issued an entry pass that can be used to enter the show arena.
This solution worked because it fulfilled the requirements above and also prevented non-stall keepers from entering using the stall passes.
